IRA Charitable Qualified Distribution

IRA Charitable Qualified Distribution

Thanks to your generous support, kids in Green Bay, Door County, and Shawano have a place to call their own! A place where they can count on a friendly smile and caring words from a vested mentor who sees who they are today and believes in who they are meant to become.

When you invest in our Clubs, you are investing in our next generation of leaders and difference makers. You are making sure that every child in our communities has access to the tools and resources they need to grow and thrive.

Helping is simple.

Did you know there is a way you can help kids in our community while receiving tax benefits?

Yes, if you are 70½ or older you may qualify to make
charitable distributions to Club through an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
(QDC). A QDC is a powerful strategy that allows you to give back and support the
mission of Club directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

What are some benefits to an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution?

  • Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to Club
  • Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
  • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
  • Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
  • Help further the work and mission of Club and support youth in our communities!

How to make an IRA Charitable Qualified Distribution:

QCDs must be directly transferred from the custodian of the IRA to the charity. Contact your
IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Club. Your IRA funds will be directly
transferred to the Boys & Girls Club in support of their mission. Please note that QCD gifts do
not qualify as a charitable deduction. To learn more, consult with your tax or financial advisor
to explore how QDCs can fit into your financial strategy for the current tax year and beyond.
